Jazz At The Lake inaugurated a Scholarship Fundraiser in 2024 to provide funds for deserving local secondary school graduates who had been accepted in music programs at post-secondary institutions to help with their expenses. JATL offered to match all donations up to a $1,000 and the event was a resounding success. We raised over $2,000 which was divided between our two winners, both of whom were matriculating at McGill University in Montreal that fall. This year we have one winner, JM Amurao, a graduate from Ecole Secondaire Notre Dame High School, who will be performing as an opening act at this year’s concert. Again, Jazz At The Lake will match all donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000 to assist JM in his university music studies. We anticipate making this an annual event and are most grateful for this year’s concert sponsorship by one of our founders, Matt Toonders, owner of Benjamin Moore – The Paint Stop, and our “Jazz Angel” Jean Van Wert of Medicine Hat, Alberta, for her generous contribution toward the future underwriting of our scholarship fund.
